Clive Barker Fans Take Note:
THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN Needs Your Help!

Hi Folks!

We’ve heard from several people that Lionsgate has decided to essentially turn Clive Barker’s new film, THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, into a straight-to-DVD release, even though we’ve also heard the final cut of the film is really terrific. This same source reports that there is growing internal pressure within the company for a wider release of this film and PUBLIC FAN PRESSURE may help to push this decision over the edge.

If you wish to see THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN in all its big screen glory, here are a couple of ways to let Lionsgate know how you feel:

1) email Lionsgate investor relations at keasterling@lionsgate.com

2) email Lionsgate’s general customer contact at general-inquiries@lionsgate.com

3) call the main Lionsgate office at 310-449-9200 and express your desire to see MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN in the theater.

AS ALWAYS, BE POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL!

For the emails, here is a sample we saw in our inbox the other day:
——————————–

Dear Lionsgate,

As a long time Clive Barker fan, I am writing you to express my strong desire to see “The Midnight Meat Train” on the big screen.
Rumors are currently circulating that the film will only be released on a limited basis and I am very concerned that I will miss my opportunity to see the most highly anticipated Clive Barker film in over a decade in all of its big screen glory!

There are millions of horror fans like myself who have been disappointed by the recent trend towards watered down PG-13 horror movies. Clive’s work represents a return to serious, thought provoking horror movies and with Ryuhei Kitamura at the helm, I am even more excited to experience this collaboration as it was intended: in a packed theater with hundreds of other horror fans like myself!

I urge you to please give this film the release it deserves!
——————————–

Good luck to all of the Clive Barker fans out there! Make sure your voices are heard before it’s too late!

Blue collar tough Andrew White knows that in the rural community of
Miller’s Fork bad things are best left in the dark. He soon learns that
monsters wear many shapes.

In a populace rife with of vice and deception, something has broken
loose…something hidden and feral. Set free from a neighbor’s barn, a force rampages through the locality. Hungry and insatiable, the berserk wrath unleashed from Mr. Solow’s shed is holds a darker secret than anyone could imagine.

Only a factory worker, a twisted biker, an unsure sheriff, and a wounded addict stand in the way of the beast. Can they put aside their differences and defeat what lurks inside them in time to defend what they love?

Come, peer inside the souls of Miller’s Fork and see if they possess the courage to stop the primal fury that is…HAWG.

“Shrewsbury is an accomplished storyteller with a gift for story and character development. Realistic…gory…the plotting is masterful and endlessly exciting.”

“I wrote HAWG to tell a simple monster tale, ” Shrewsbury admits. “I never intended for the work as a mixture of Edward Lee, Richard Laymon and Robert E. Howard, but some reviewers have said that is so. The gritty edge is pretty sharp, cutting deep and often.”

In other Harvest Hill news, we will be starting the cover design around the first week of August. It is up in the air right now whether we will illustrate this anthology or not. This anthology, like The Beast Within, has taken on a life of its own. It has taken on a Tales From The Crypt feel.

Story Synopsis

Eddie “Wolf Boy” Gnash is a freak. He makes a living showing us just how much of an oddity he really is. Don’t look away in disgust though. We need Eddie to do the things he does. It reminds us just how normal we really are.

What happens when the World’s not interested in what Eddie has to offer? When his sideshow is considered mundane and commonplace, it must be time for a change. Where will all the freaks, geeks and misfits possibly fit in? There’s only one place on Earth that will accept the kind of crew Eddie runs with.

New Ramoth. A city slathered in axle grease and covered in scar tissue. Even Marshal Law is considered too authoritarian for this town. Survival of the fittest decides who’s on top and crime is the only promotion system. Eddie fits right in and soon calls its soiled streets home.

Eddie’s found a different gig in New Ramoth. He’s a private investigator. Hire him out for the jobs that nobody will touch. Even in a town where the dead don’t want to be found, there’s enough work to keep him busy for a lifetime.

A pinhead pimp’s regulars are being killed off. Dead tricks in the alleyway are nothing new on these streets, but it’s the way they died that’s bizarre. Although their faces tell a tale of utter bliss, below the belt reveals something more dreadful and sinister. All that’s left is fungus and deep rot.

It’s up to Eddie to find who or what’s behind these terrible acts. Along the way he’ll rely on old friends from the show, make new acquaintances and plenty of enemies. In the end the fate of his new home, and perhaps the entire world, rests in the hands of a fur covered freak–Eddie Gnash, Sideshow PI.

Story Synopsis

Renier is a port city that stands as a glorious gem on the edge of the kingdom. The people are justly ruled by their beloved Duke with the assistance of a benevolent wizard and a self-involved priest. Within twenty-four hours everything changes as a small group of strange lepers enter the port and cause a mysterious and deadly illness to rage through the city, killing most of the residents. Violent illness and gruesome death isn’t the end of the horror for the residents of Renier. Not by a long shot, as thousands of dead bodies rise from the cobblestone streets in search of living prey. Sword and sorcery battle against an unstoppable hunger as the few living residents try and escape the walls of an undead nightmare.

What people are saying:

“Bret Jordan’s Plague blends dark fantasy and zombie horror with genuinely chilling results. You won’t be disappointed - get hooked on this serial!”
~David Dunwoody, author of Empire

“Bret Jordan has created an intriguing medieval world where blood & guts zombie mayhem is delivered with the brutal edge of a sword, not the barrel of a .45. Read it - you’ll dig it!”

~Vince Churchill author of The Dead Shall Inherit the Earth & The Blackest Heart
