I never fear killing off a character I love. Everyday people watch the ones they love die. It hurts a reader to have a character they have learned to love die right there in their hands and no amount of whiteout will change that. A reality check like that makes all the fiction stuff seem all the more plausible. When I sat with my mother as she died I realized how true these words were. The best thing about fiction is that you can always pick up the book again and read life back into the characters you loved. Unlike life, people in books never truly die forever.

SUPERDUPER congratulations to every-freakin'-body!  Y'all are one awesome bunch of writers.

Pseudopod just bought my story "Gretel"!   I'm so glad I finally got around to sending them something.

This story was written for (and purchased by, and published by)  the Devil's Food anthology, alongside stories by Tim Curran, Natalie Sin, Aaron Polson, Mark Onspaugh, et al.  I've tried to inform the editors, but they seem to have sunk from view.  If anyone knows how to get in touch with these guys, I'd love an email.  I'm at:  littlebirdblue@yahoo.com

Thanks, man! It's always interesting, isn't it?  I've sold stories in audio to Fantasy Magazine, Escape Pod, and Sniplits, but I hadn't tried Pseudopod before.
