I invite everyone to come by my site to check out Dethm8.  Check out the webseries of a handful of restaurant patrons as they are stalked by a creature driving a car like nobody has ever seen before, the three waitresses who develop strange abilities, and the group of bikers who may not be what they seem right here:

My horror short "Candy" will be available this Saturday.  It also includes the story "Mr. Cumberland's Last Magic Show" and an excerpt of Tales from an Apartment.  Swing by and pick up a copy with this link: http://amzn.to/A4VsW3.

Reviews-
Gerald Dean Rice has a real knack for taking a mundane event & turning it into a horrificly bizarre situation. In the first story, a married man agrees to go to a motel with a strange woman & soon realizes he can never go back to his wife, after having a taste of Candy. The second story was even better than the first one, telling the story of a guy with a real magic trick, who is pushe to use his gift in a way that he never imagined.

Rice's work always has a touch of insanity to it, drawing me back to see what other madness he has created.

Both stories have a bit of madness to them-twisty darkness with endings that stick with you after you've finished reading them. Candy starts out as a pretty straight-laced adultery story with a disturbing completion that might give potential cheaters pause. Magic was my favorite of the two tales, with a surreal quality to it that remains throughout, growing more intriguingly wicked as it comes to a conclusion.
For the price, it's a bargain to check out these two well written stories by an up and coming independent writer.

Easy to read stories that made me think I was watching episodes of the Twilight Zone. I am willing to take a chance on more of Mr. Rice's work. What an imagination!

If you like, please leave a review!

My short story, The 5000 Fingers of Bob is free today on Kindle.  Stop by and grab a copy! http://amzn.to/zzIdnN

Five men decide to kill a boy one summer. But the boy is much more than he seems. Slow and a giant, but there is something nefarious, something terrible just underneath the surface of his vacant eyes. When their plan springs into action they will discover that the trouble they've stumbled into has a cost attached the whole town will have to pay.

I must confess to hesitancy when I first read the blurb: a group of guys plotting to injure a mentally challenged man? I suspected bullying at minimum, painful stomach-churning violence at worst. But because I like and admire author Gerald Rice-he certainly knows how to entice readers-I picked up the book anyway-and guess what? Enraptured! Love it! First-page-hooked!

Gerald Rice deals it out-again! And better than ever, if possible. Do not miss this story! This book truly has it all: well-defined historical setting, deep-drawn characterisations, poetic description, plotting, Supernatural forces, high level emotions-it's as if both the author and the reader are standing on the sidelines, witnessing all the events!

Shivers and chills! Reading this is akin to living the story-and I have seldom been so frightened. This one will stick in the mind for a very long time-worth rereading, but I'll make sure to read it again in the daytime. No way would I read this story alone at night. This is the second story I've read today which has put me in mind of Peter Straub's classic novel "Ghost Story." In this case it is because of both the tautly-knit friendships of the five men, enduring even to and beyond death; and of the unstoppable Supernatural entity which means to overwhelm all their puny human efforts. - Amazon Review

Starting Saturday, I will have a few books that will be free. I'm forgetting the order, but The Salesman, The 5000 Fingers of Bob, and While You Work will all be free, staggered, starting Saturday and ending, I think Thursday. Just go to http://amzn.to/xqWpiH to snatch a copy (and you can grab the always free 30 Minute Plan and The Beggar's Bowl). The Salesman and The 5000 Fingers of Bob both have excerpts from my book of shorts Tales from an Apartment that's gotten a couple excellent reviews.

Back in October I began an idea on a whim. Several short stories that all take place in the same apartment. Throughout different times and maybe reealities the stories all take place. The original plan was to write 30 stories and put them together in a book. Well, in looking at my timeline for the year, I realized I don't have the time to commit to 22 more stories. I have a few projects I want to have completed by certain times and I either have to put this on the back burner or put out what I have done now.

I'm hoping to have Tales from an Apartment done in the next month or two and available on the usual e-sites. More soon!

For whatever reason 30 Minute Plan has resurged and is currently #17 for free Kindle books for horror.  I'd like to reach number one--can you help?

Get a copy.  Like I said, it's free.  And if you're on the fence about my novella, Fleshbags, there's an excerpt in there as well.  What are you waiting for?  I'll even give you a link- http://www.amazon.com/30-Minute-Plan-ebook/dp/B004P8JXGA/ref=zg_bstf_157060011_17

Starting September 1st, any review posted for my novella, Fleshbags, on Amazon that is an “Amazon Verified Purchase” will be eligible to win a $25 Amazon gift card.  Now the review does not have to be favorable (though appreciated), but it does have to be an actual review of the book.  So any verified purchases that have reviews that have nothing to do with the actual book will be disqualified.  To be on the safe side, make your review at least one (even if small) paragraph.  Once you have posted your review and it appears on Amazon’s site, go to www.feelmyghost.webs.com and click the ‘Contact Me’ button.  Post a link of your review and your email address so I can put you in the drawing.  The contest ends October 1st , so be sure you have your review and email addy to me by midnight, October 1st!  The winner will be chosen through www.random.org and announced on my website October 3rd.

Oh, and by the way, if the contest proves popular enough, I will extend it another month and add another $25 gift card.  Prior contestants will automatically be entered for the drawing (save for the winner).  Details on that if it happens, but in the meantime, happy contesting!

I reserve the right to disqualify any entries deemed unfit.  By sending me your email address you agree to be signed up for my newsletter and may opt-out by email or 'Contact Me' message through my website.  I will not share your email address.
